Wednesday evening we got a phone call and an email that there were threats to schools in Guymon and Keyes, Oklahoma and Liberal, and Elkhart, Kansas.
Initially we called the Guymon Police Department to check out the story, and their chief of police advised us to contact the FBI.
So, we called the FBI Field Office in Kansas City. FBI Public Affairs Specialist Bridget Patton said around 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, an object with a written threat was found in Elkhart, Kansas at an elementary school. Morton County Deputies began investigating, and then contacted the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Patton says, "There were no credible threats to any schools," and that she cannot comment further.
As of Thursday morning, when we checked in with Patton, there is no new information available.
