AMARILLO, TEXAS -- It's time again to take a trip around town to see what new places Amarillo has to offer.
We will check out a place that will help kick off the new year to a healthy start, then a place that brings exotic food flair from around the globe, and also a place for some to lay their head.
Zest Eat & Drinkery brings international cuisine to Amarillo.
The upscale, yet casual restaurant opened its doors in July and specializes in fish, duck, lamb, steaks and sandwiches.
The eatery offers nightly specials including prime rib each Wednesday and fresh fish on Fridays.
It's right off of I-40 and Western St. between Rosa's Cafe and Cattle Call.
Next we take a turn to the Forum at Soncy, where we find Complete Nutrition.
This is the place to start making healthy decisions for all those new years resolutions.
Complete Nutrition provides a variety of nutritional supplements for weight loss, sports nutrition, and healthy aging.
The retail chain has been around for more than 30 years.
Last but not least, we have a place that provides affordable accommodations for out of town guests.
Conveniently located in the medical district, the Medical Center League House, provides rooming for out of town adult guests that either come to have a medical procedure, or are visiting someone seeking medical attention.
"Hospitality houses have become extremely important across the county and very much needed. It's very expensive to stay in a hotel for an extended period of time, so that's where the Medical Center League House comes into play -- you can stay here at a lot cheaper than staying in a hotel," said Amber Glawe, Medical Center League House Executive Director.
It's $35 a night to stay at the hotel-like league house, and each room has two queen beds and a private bathroom.
It offers amenities like a free laundry room, a prayer garden and a multi-purpose room that's available to rent for public use.
The Medical Center League House, managed by Baptist Community Services, is a total non-profit organization that operates solely on donations.
