AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A local family is going through some trying times as their 3-month-old daughter Shyanne fights for her life.

Monday night at Blue Sky Restaurant, the Black family hosted a fundraiser to raise money for their little girl who has to go to Dallas to treat a heart defect, something they discovered due to an illness.

"On December 5th she went in for RSV and in the hospital in Dalhart she wasn't getting any better, so that Thursday on the 9th they transported her here to BSA and that's when they discovered that she has a heart murmur," said Carie Black, Shyanne's Mother.

But it wasn't just a murmur.  An ecocardiogram found three heart defects.  All of which will require two major surgeries to repair, but her grandmother, Ann Lowery, says you'd never guess that by looking at her.

"She's so happy and smiles and coo's and you would never know that anything was wrong with her."

If you'd like to help the Black family, you can donate at any Happy State Bank, just mention Shyanne Black's name.  Or you can mail in your donation to "Attention: Sherry States".
