AMARILLO, Texas (AP) - A former Amarillo-area educator has been sentenced to 30 days in the Carson County Jail after pleading guilty to having an improper relationship with a student.

Kovette Renee Bradley was a teacher's aide at White Deer High School until she resigned Dec. 31, the day authorities began investigating.

The 38-year-old was arrested Jan. 4.

Prosecutors say a judge also sentenced Bradley to 10 years of probation on the second-degree felony.

The Amarillo Globe-News reported Tuesday that Bradley must pay a $4,000 fine, do 300 hours of community service and is forbidden from having any contact with the victim.
