AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Catholic Student Center, close to the campus of West Texas A&M University, is hosting their biggest annual auction, Dinner-Dance fundraiser. The event has been going on for at least 20 years and will take place at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Amarillo on Sat. February 5.
There you can expect a steak dinner with all the sides, music by the band Young Country, and both a live and silent auction. Items in the auction that can be won include student labor, a box suite to a Rangers game, a condo resort stay and ski package in Red River plus much more.
Proceeds help benefit the student center and help keep the ministries running.
"This fundraiser provides half of our operating budget every year. It provides things for the students like mission trips, group activities and also a full-time priest," said Betty Aragon, Catholic Student Center Assistant.
Tickets are $25 each and can be purchased in advanced by calling 806-655-4345, or can be purchased at the door the night of the event for $35.
The CSC provides a place for WT and Amarillo College students to come worship, gather and study -- a home away from home.
