AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Bradley Aaron Barnum, 23, was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning, but he didn’t show. So Amarillo police were sent to check on his welfare around 10 that morning, at 6302 Blake. Officers were told that Barnum was to face sentencing on a charge of probation violation with the original charge of aggravated assault on a peace officer which happened in Canyon a few years ago.
The family told the officers that Barnum was at the apartment and his vehicle was in the parking lot.
Officers knocked on the door but no answer, they then secured the area and waited for Barnum to come out. The Randall County District Attorney’s office issued a warrant for motion to revoke and asked officers to enter the apartment and take Barnum into custody.
Because of Barnum’s original charge of assault on a peace office, the SWAT team was called in to help in serving the warrant. When the SWAT officers entered the apartment there was no sign of Barnum.
Shortly after the apartment was cleared, officers were notified that Barnum had turned himself in at the Randall County Jail.
