AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo police have called in crime scene investigators to an incident at Martin Road Park.

It happened around 8:30 Saturday night. Police said a man driving a white truck had stopped in the middle of 15th and Martin Road and was hit by another vehicle.  That car left the scene. We're told the man that was hit was taken by ambulance to a local hospital suffering from a broken leg and possibly other severe injuries.

15th at Martin Road was shut down while the scene was cleared. At 10:00 p.m. Amarillo police were at the hospital questioning the victim on what exactly happened and getting a description of the vehicle that hit him.

Crime scene investigators were called in because they're not sure if the man was hit on purpose or on accident. They also don't know why the victim was outside his car in the middle of the road.

We'll keep you posted as we learn more.
