AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Updated:
A local businessman and three kind-hearted insurance salesmen decided that instead of spending their snow day inside, they'd get out and do something positive.
"We were like we probably won't be too busy tomorrow in the office so, you know we get four wheel drive and shovels and we're young so we just thought we'd try to get out and help some businesses and some people," said Josh Butler, local Amarillo citizen.
"Landscaping business is slow...not a lot of lawns to mow, so pray for snow," said Rickey Bates, Lone Star Lawn and Land Owner.
Most people, on snow days, spend their time getting warm and watching TV, but not these guys.
"This time of year, it's fantastic to see the snow. It gives us something to do, keeps the guys busy and just keeps the wheels turning," Bates went on to say.
While the landscapers are using the snow for business, helping their regular customers, the snow shovelers are doing it for another reason.
"Basically we're going to be doing this today and once it clears up we'll have to go back to work in our regular jobs, so we're just out kind of having some fun and getting some exercise," said Butler.
Both groups say they planned to put in 15 hour days.
And while some people think it's cold outside, they see it as just another day.

With the snow piling up everywhere some people are wondering how they're going to get out of their drive ways, houses or into businesses.
Well, three insurance agents with a day off decided to fix that problem.
They say that they are young and could use the exercise as they go around to their customers houses and businesses that need their help and shovel snow.
"Basically we're going to be doing this today and once it clears up we'll have to go back to in our regular jobs, so we're just out kind of having some fun and getting some exercise," said Josh Butler, Amarillo do gooder.
They are doing it for profit but they say there is no set rate they are just doing it for whatever the resident or business owner feels is fair.
