The Texas Department of Transportation has released the details of a wreck that killed one person in the Texas Panhandle.
Troopers said that Daniel Reynoso was driving north on US Highway 83, 9 miles south of Childress. While attempting to pass a semi, Reynoso hit a patch of ice and lost control of the truck sending it into a ditch. Daniel Rodriguez, a passenger in the truck, was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers said that the 36-year old Rodriguez from Welsaco was not wearing his seat belt.
Two other people, along with Reynoso were also treated for minor injuries. The accident happened around 8:00 Wednesday morning.
