AMARILLO, TEXAS -- You know the saying, "there's an app for that", and it seems today there really is.
The company Little iApps has developed an app directed at Roman Catholics to aid in their confession process. The app, 'Confession,' is intended not to replace confession, but to supplement it.
The app, which markets itself to those who frequent the sacrament, offers a guide to the confession process, and keeps a password-protected log of users' sins. However, the Catholic church is not showing this new application any support.
Vatican spokesman Federico Lombardi recently announced "One cannot speak in any way of confessing via iPhone," and "This cannot be substituted by any IT application."
Another app that is offering to help with the soul or soul mate that is, the heat tracker. With Valentines day right around the corner singles are out on the town searching for their soul mates, and many of them choose local bars and restaurants as their hunting ground. With today's fast pace what single man has time to cruise a bar only to find a lack of ladies?
'Heat Tracker', which uses Foursquare's check-in data, identifies the number of males and females checked in at nearby locations, helping people determine hot meeting spots before a night out on the town. Based upon the number of people on-site, locations can range in temperature levels i.e. Cold, Warm, Warming Up, Smoking Hot or On Fire.
In the application store, Confession will cost you $1.99 & Heat Tracker is free. So as it turns out there really is an app for that too!
