AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Holocaust will forever go down as one of the most horrific events in world history.
And today, students from Holy Cross, Arbor Christian, and Ascension Academies had the privilege of learning first-hand from a holocaust survivor what it was like to be there.
Peter Loth, a holocaust survivor has made many travels in his life, and today he made a stop in Amarillo.
He spoke about what it was like to grow up in a concentration camp and how talking to kids about it in person is a much different learning experience.
"Yeah you can read it in a book but if you don't see those people if you don't touch those people, just like I told them go to museums all over the world and experience it in your own life, so that you can communicate better with one another," said Loth.
His presentation was emotionally driven and had graphic images of his what it was like for him growing up.
"I have to relive it when i talk my testimony, I don't have a script you know like in a book, this way I have to relive it and take them to places like you know my orphanage or my mothers death and so forth."
Loth went on to say that he does this not to just to educate kids but to also pay his respects to the people who liberated and freed him.
If you want to hear his story, Loth will be speaking again tonight and tomorrow night at seven o-clock in Amarillo College's Ordway Hall.
The price of admission also includes a ticket to the performance of "The Diary of Anne Frank."
