Elderly man robbed overnight

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Amarillo Police Department is investigating the personal robbery of a elderly man.

Police said the 76-year-old male left a restaurant around 11:00 Wednesday night, and had pulled into his driveway when the suspect confronted him. The suspect allegedly said, "give me your billfold or I'll hurt you." The victim refused, tried to get out of his truck but the suspect pushed him back inside, and then took his check book from him. The suspect was last seen running westbound. The only description available is that the suspect is a black male, around 30 standing about 5'10". The suspect was wearing a black hooded coat or jacket.

Nobody was hurt during the incident, anyone with information is asked to call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400.
