BORGER, TEXAS -- More than 150 people gathered this afternoon for Borger's new Golden Plains Community Hospital topping out ceremony.
That marks the completion of the highest point of the new hospital during construction.
The ceremony offers lunch to all of the sub contractors and people in the community, to give them a chance to tour the building and see how far they've come.
The've invested more than six million dollars so far into the new hospital, something that CEO Dennis Jack says is really important to the community.
"Well it really shows the community that we're actually building and even while a lot of the work was done up here, people would ask us are you really still building the hospital, so this way we can show people that, yeah we are."
Officials say the hospital is on track to be finished in September and open up for operation in October.
