AMARILLO, TEXAS -- If you live in Potter County and have an outstanding hot check, it's time to pay up, according to the Potter County Attorney's Office.
That's because starting Wednesday, March 7, investigators will begin hitting the streets looking for those with warrants for hot checks. Investigators can arrest those with warrants anywhere, including at their home and their jobs.
From now until March 7, those who have outstanding hot checks are encouraged to contact the County Attorney's Office to make arrangements to resolve their cases. If those arrangements aren't made, investigators could come knocking at their doors.
The County Attorney's Office says it's doing this Hot Check Roundup to bring justice to hot check writers who have repeatedly failed to pay the costs associated with their hot checks.
