AMARILLO, TEXAS -- In just a few weeks the seat, or Cathedra, of Bishop Patrick Zurek will move from St. Laurence Cathedral to St. Mary's Church. When the move happens on March 25th, St. Mary's will be elevated to Cathedral status.

The process will begin on March 24th at 7:00p.m., with the final Vespers at St. Laurence with the Cathedra. The Vespers will be presided over by Archbishop Gustavo Garcia-Sillier of San Antonio. After Vespers, the diocese will take the Cathedra out of St. Laurence.

Then on Friday the 25th, a special 2:00p.m. Mass will be held, where the Cathedra will be put into St. Mary's and blessed. The Cardinal from Galveston-Houston, Daniel Cardinal DiNardo, will give the Homily.
