AMARILLO, TX -- Downtown Amarillo Incorporated's board met today to discuss recent public input and see what the next few months will hold for changes in the downtown area.
There are about a dozen meetings planned in the next 5-6 months asking for more public input into revitalization efforts.
And D-A-I recently sent out a survey to people living in the Oliver-Eakle area to see what businesses those residents would like to see move into the downtown area.
"We have a lot of due diligence to do, to look at the feasibility of a hotel, the multi purpose events center, garage, location how that's going to be built, a lot of work to do, a lot of public input to get, so it's a lot of due diligence to do in the next 6 months or so," says Melissa Dailey, Executive Director of D-A-I.
They also got an update on the Potter county courthouse renovation... construction and move-in of those offices, originally slated for August has been pushed back another 4 months, with a completion date of December.
