AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Several organizations and businesses around town are doing various relief efforts to help those affected by the recent wildfires -- even youngsters are pitching in.

Students and staff at Oak Dale Elementary are tipping their hats and dollars to help raise funds for the Texas Panhandle Chapter Red Cross.

Folks who donated a dollar today had the opportunity to wear any kind of hat they wanted -- from cowboys hats to baseball caps that sparkled, and one first grader told us why she thought it was important to help.

"Because so we can help the people who have had a fire in the past week, and so the world can have freedom and they can have homes and live," said Angel Oliver, Oak Dale Elementary.

Here's a list of other relief events going on:

Fri. Mar. 4 -- Westgate Mall and Southwest Honda have partnered to raise funds for residents impacted by wildfires. Donations can be deposited through the sun-roof of a Honda Civic parked inside the Westgate Mall near the food courts anytime during normal business mall hours. Both business will match the grand total of all donations made. Checks can be made to the Red Cross.

Fri. & Sat. Mar. 4 & 5 -- D'Vine Wine will donate 15% of sales both those days to the Red Cross.

Sat. Mar. 5 -- Another Attic Self Storage along with BNI & Salvation Army are hosting a donation drive from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at 2501 Paramount.

Fri. Mar. 11 -- Amarillo Bulls Game -- $1 of every ticket sold will be given to local Red Cross.

Sun. Mar. 13 -- Rosa's Café will donate a percentage of their sales from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m.
