AMARILLO, TX -- Despite being a few months behind on the renovation work at the Potter county courthouse... plans are still in the works to have the building move-in ready before the end of the year.
The majority of the structural work is just about complete, and workers hope to start the final restoration during the last few months of work.
The majority of potter county employees will be moving back from the Santa Fe building, but not to the old white walls and bland decor.
"When you walk into the building you'll see all the historic colors from the 1932 structure. All we've seen as taxpayers for the last 50 years have been white walls, white ceilings, very bland. when you walk in, you'll see all the historic colors come back," says Mike Head, Potter county director of facilities.
The entire project, including 5 million from the Texas historical commission, is expected to have a final cost of a almost 17 and a half million dollars.
