PORTALES, NM -- A Portales teenager was killed after a one-vehicle wreck in Roosevelt County Monday night.
The Clovis News Journal reports Michael Galvan was killed in the wreck. It happened at about 6:30 p.m. on Roosevelt Road 2 near Roosevelt Road X.
According to State Police, a 2004 Nissan Xterra driven by Raven Rodriguez, 20, of Portales, was traveling westbound on Roosevelt Road 2 at a high rate of speed when it ran a stop sign. After hitting a rise in the road, the driver lost control.
Galvan was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident remains under investigation but police believe speed could be a contributing factor.
