Two major construction projects are scheduled for Wednesday, both of which could delay your commute around town.

The Texas Department of Transportation said crews will close the I-27 frontage and main lanes in both directions at Rockwell Road. Crews will begin pouring concrete on the deck slabs of the new bridge structure. A spokesperson with TXDOT said north and southbound lanes will be closed around 8:00 a.m., crews will eventually close one lane in each direction on the main lanes on I-27. They are hoping to have this phase of the $2 million project by Wednesday evening.

If you are driving in the area of 58th and Georgia, you might also see some travel delays. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction of 58th street while TXDOT workers install a new storm sewer system. People should also be prepared for changes in the traffic control at that intersection for the next five weeks as that project is complete.
