AMARILLO, TEXAS -- One local church is doing their best to put a smile on the faces of the children who lost their homes and more specifically their toys in the recent wildfires.

A few staff members of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church came up with the idea to ask for new toys for the kids who lost theirs in the fires.

Something that has been an afterthought when it comes to the necessities that people lost that day.

"A lot of people immediately and rightfully think about clothes and food and shelter and we just started thinking about a lot of the kids, you know who lost all of their toys and a lot of times is going to be the last things that people think of in terms of replacing," said Roger Smith, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Pastor.

You can donate at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church their phone number is 806-383-8823 or at one of their partner locations that includes, Fazoli's, Lang Tire and Discovery School.

The last day to donate is March 23.
