Much anticipated device hits Amarillo shelves today
The iPad 2 wll be released at several Amarillo stores today.
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo residents will be able to get the much anticipated iPad 2 starting at 5:00 tonight, according to a several stores Pronews 7 spoke with.
Target in Amarillo says it is expecting at least five iPad 2's and recommends those who want one to show up early. Best Buy also told us they will have the new device. Additionally, several area Walmarts confirmed they too will have a small number of the iPad 2s.
The AT&T Store off I-40 also said they are expecting a shipment, but they won't know for sure until late morning.Verizon Wireless also says it will be selling the device, too.
According to Apple, the newest version of its tablet will be released at 5 p.m. across the country at many stores including AT&T, Best Buy, Target, Verizon, Walmart and other Apple resellers.
Pricing of the new device starts at $499. Several changes have been made, even though the first version was released less than a year ago. It is 33 percent thinner and features a completely new design. It also has two cameras, a front-facing one and a rear-facing one.
The iPad 2 is also available online but if you order it there, you'll have to wait for delivery.
