AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The grassfires happened just a week and a half ago and Panhandle residents are continuing to help out those in need.

Pleasant Valley Baptist Church says it is getting great response from the public so far on its toy drive. However, they are still in need of toys for children under the age of two as well as for kids ages nine to 17.

Staff members of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church are the ones who came up with the idea to ask for new toys for the kids who lost all of theirs in the fire.

"A lot of people immediately and rightfully think about clothes and food and shelter and we just started thinking about a lot of the kids, you know who lost all of their toys and a lot of times is going to be the last things that people think of in terms of replacing," said Roger Smith, Pleasant Valley Baptist Church Pastor.

If you'd like to help out and give to the toy drive, you can drop toys off at the Church at 555 East Hastings Ave or the daycare which is attached to the Church. You can also drop off toys at one of their partner locations which include Fazoli's, Lang Tire and Discovery School.
