A pickup stopped in Oldham County on Interstate 40 last weekend netted more than $230,000 in marijuana and $10,000 in cash.

The pickup was stopped by a Trooper for speeding. During the stop, consent to search the vehicle was denied and a K-9 was brought in to conduct a free air sniff, authorities said.

According to officials, the K-9 unit detected a presence of a controlled substance and a search was conducted. 68.5 pounds of marijuana and U.S. Currency were found inside two toolboxes in the truck bed. The marijuana is valued at $239,750 and the cash found totaled $10,000.

Emmanuel, S. Peysson, 37 of San Rafael, Calif., was the driver and Dana M. Bryant, 27 of Sonoma, Calif., was the passenger. Both were arrested for possession of marijuana and money laundering. They were reportedly traveling to New York.
