CANYON, TX -- West Texas A&M University is trying to promote the need to observe social changes globally and make sure its student body understands the need to recognize these advancement with 21 days of change.
Beginning April 1st, the university will address 21 different global, social issues: from being a volunteer and hunger to the plight of the homeless and the difference a single pair of shoes can make.
And its hoped looking at the problems will make students better global citizens, according to organizer, Dr. Leigh Browning..
"Who better than your local university to engage in global change issues that affect all of us. Some of them are very difficult to talk about and some of them are just simple. It's just about awareness and an understanding that we're all on the same planet."
21 Days of change wraps up with guest speaker Blake Mycoskie, who founded Tom's shoes, which donates a pair of shoes for each pair sold on a worldwide basis.
