AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Vietnam veterans around the country were finally welcomed home earlier this month when the U.S. Legislature passed a resolution recognizing their services.
Today the recently reformed group "Veterans of Amarillo College" hosted a celebration to offically welcome veterans in attendance home.
After talking to some of the veterans about this issue they told us it just feels gratifying to finally get the recognition for their sacrifices.
And the formulation of the group is to make sure that no soldier ever feels left out again.
"The Vietnam veterans are trying to see to it that none of our hero's today come home without recognition and without the that the Vietnam veterans didn't get when we came home," said Don Higgins, a Vietnam war veteran in attendance.
There was also plans of having a dinner at 7 p.m. at the V.F.W. for Vietnam vets as well.
