Multiple sclerosis stops millions of Americans in their tracks, but in an effort to combat the disease and raise money for a cure, the MS Society of Amarillo is encouraging everyone to get moving for the cause!
MS Development Manager April Brownlee works hard every day to assist people of the Panhandle living with MS. "We currently have 800 people registered with us, who are living with MS, and we want those who may not be registered to know we are here to assist them in any way possible."
A fun easy way to get involved and give is to get moving at the Walk MS event on Saturday, April 16. Check in begins at 8:30 a.m and the walk takes off at 10:00am - 12:00pm.
"We hope people will come by early and check out our Vender expo. as well! We'll have nutritionist available, chiropractors on scene and more local health care experts" Brownlee says.
If you participated in last years walk, you may have found memories of the cold weather conditions, however, this year never fear! The walk will take place inside the cozy climate of Caprock High School.
So far, 400 walkers have signed up but the society is hoping to see 600 to 700 participants! To help them reach their goal visit www.walkmstexas.org & register today!
Remember if you know someone who needs assistance due to MS call 1-800-344-3867 for help.
