CANYON, TEXAS -- A week of giving will be part of West Texas A&M University's 21 Day's of Change.
April 11-14 is National Volunteer Week, and students will have the opportunity to find out more information about volunteering and how to get involved.
Representatives from local organizations and chapters such as Family Support Services, Big Brother Big Sister, American Cancer Society, Tobacco Free Amarillo and Impact Futures will be on campus each day at noon.
"Who better than your local university to engage in global change issues that affect all of us. Some of them are very difficult to talk about and some of them are just simple. It's just about awareness and an understanding that we're all on the same planet," said Dr. Leigh Browning, WTAMU Coordinator.
WT's 21 Days of Change started on April 1, and it focuses on 21 different social issues ranging from homelessness and volunteering to hunger.
The purpose is to change perspectives and press students to be a part of some type of change.
The weeks event is sponsored by CORE and PULSE Peer Educators.
