Suspicious death being investigated

Two teenagers and one adult are now being charged with the murder, the Portales News Tribune reports.

16-year-old Erick Pina from Arch, 21-year-old Alonso Quinonez of Portales and 17-year-old Alberto Ramirez of Portales were arrested in connection with Sunday’s shooting death of 25-year-old Jose Alfredo Charize Montoya.

Police say the shooting happened when they were at Montoya's house robbing him.

Portales Police now say Montoya died of a gunshot wound to the head, the Portales New Tribune reports. They said he died sometime between early Sunday afternoon and 7 p.m.

The man found dead in Portales on Sunday has now been identified.

According to the Portales News Tribune, the man was identified as 25-year-old Jose Alfredo Charize Montoya of Portales.

The newspaper says he had a local address but is from Mexico.

Offiials are now processing the results of the autopsy.

Portales Police are investigating a suspicious death from Sunday evening.

At around 9 p.m., police were sent to the 700 block of Avenue O where a 25-year-old male had sustained injuries and was unresponsive.

Upon arrival, police say he was determined to be deceased.

He was originally found by a family member but the next of kin have yet to be notified.

Police tell Pronews 7 they are continuing to process the scene and it is being investigated as a suspicious death.
