CANYON, TEXAS -- Two teachers at Crestview Elementary School got the surprise of a lifetime Tuesday.

Susan Anthony and Shanna Alstead were surprised by their students' parents with tickets to an invitation only dinner with Toms' Shoe founder Blake Mycoskie. The teachers were so surprised, they cried. They say they had emailed one the parents, a West Texas A&M University Professor, as a joke saying they wanted to go, and never thought it would happen.

"We have been talking to our kids about giving back to the community and the good things that they can do to help out their community. We had seen that he was coming to WT to speak and just the great things that he's done with his company and given back with the one to one program plus all the other things he does that are so amazing," said Shanna Alstead, 3rd grade Math teacher.

Things will kick off Thursday night with a 6:00pm concert, performed by the winners of Battle of the Bands and Hawk Nelson. Tickets are $10. Mycoskie will then take the stage for his Distinguished Lecture presentation.

The lecture is free and open to all.
