Pronews 7 has confirmed that a 20-year-old woman lost her life early Monday morning as her pickup traveled on the wrong side of I-40.

The Department of Public Safety says Kayla Rose Dutcher, 20, of Panhandle, was driving a 2000 Ford pickup east in the westbound lanes on Interstate 40. The wreck happened at approximately 3:39 a.m Monday.

A semi reportedly took evasive action to avoid the collision. The semi and the truck collided.

Officials say alcohol is suspected in this case from the deceased.
