AMARILLO, TX -- About six months ago, Pronews 7 took at look at a core curriculum change over at Olsen Park Elementary....and the way students and teachers were shifting their focus when it comes to their education.

It all started with developing their "growth mindset"... a way to develop seamless learning and changing the way teachers teach..and students learn.

Overall, Principal Alan Nickson says it's been a tremendous year, but like most things in education, constant tweaking is needed.

"Ours will never be a place we arrive...it's always going to be a journey and we'll always be tweaking. In fact, I've been gathering from information from our teachers as far as what's working or not working and our core principles will never change. How we flesh them out, I think will always change."

NIckson says they've already talked with other campuses about continuing this type of education elsewhere, but he added it has to be a grassroots change that starts at the bottom.
