AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amador Lujan Lomeli, 34, has pleaded guilty to murder of Henry Hernandez, 54, back on August 17, 2007.

The trial started this week. Witnesses went on the stand on Monday, Tuesday and part of Wednesday. The defense called one witness and the jury deliberated about an hour and a half on Wednesday. They ended that session deadlocked at 7-5, it is unsure which way.

The jury came back on Thursday at 9 a.m. While they were deliberating, it became clear it would again end in a deadlock.  The defendant pleaded guilty and took a 20 year sentence. He also waived his rights to appeal. The family has agreed to this decision. A fight reportedly broke out at Busters lounge, and when a group of people tried to break it up, Lomeli allegedly started shooting. Hernandez was hit in the upper body and died.
