Update Thursday 7:20a
Pronews 7 asked our Facebook friends what they thought of our first responders. Here are just a few of those comments! You can still chime in, here!

Melinda Watts Anderson -- My son and several of his friends are fire fighters in Canyon and at Randall County. As a mother I'm extremely proud of what my son does for the community. Thank you area fire fighters for putting your life on the line for us. Please be safe out there!

Lissa Merriman -- I'd love to thank them all, but seriously how do you find the words for something that monumental?

Trista Hodge-Albritton -- Thank You to all of our First responders. We appreciate everyone of you even though we don't thank you near enough. We also want to thank your families for supporting all of you, having to give up some very special moments in your life just to keep all of us safe. My heart and prayers go out to each one of you, your secretly our angels. Thank You!!!

Amarillo City Officials have lifted all evacuations. Residents can now return home; the fire is under control.

Amarillo Fire Department confirms one mobile home and one storage shed have burned. The mobile home was between Walnut Creek and the Loop and Hester.

Officials at the Red Cross say the need for water and snacks have been met for the evening. They would like to thank all those who have responded.

From the Office of Emergency Management:
The wildfire at Western and Hester is contained.

Residents in the areas of Hester Road and Walnut Hills Subdivision should remain evacuated.

Residents of the following areas may return to their homes.
· La Paloma Subdivision
· Fairways Subdivision
· Tascosa Country Club

Shelter locations for residents in the closed area are:

· Boy Scout Council Office
401 Tascosa Rd

· Church at Quail Creek
801 S Tascosa Rd

AISD tells Pronews 7 all children are safe and out of any danger to the fire.

Pronews 7 has confirmed fire drops are being performed in the area.

Those being evacuated with animals can take their animals to Critter Camp.

From the Office of Emergency Management

Due to wildfires, the Office of Emergency Management recommends residents of the following areas to turn on their lawn sprinklers and evacuate as soon as possible:
Hester Rd
La Paloma Subdivision
Fairways Subdivision
Walnut Hills Subdivision
Tascosa Country Club

Shelters are at:
Boy Scout Council Office
401 Tascosa Rd

Church at Quail Creek
801 S Tascosa Rd

There is no threat to De Zavala Middle School or Woodlands Elementary, but the schools are sheltering in place.

We will continue to provide updated information as it is available.

Amarillo AACAL is now being evacuated. Parents are asked to pick up children from their home campus.

The fire near Loop 335 continues to burn at this time. Evacuations are still in order for Fairways Subdivisoin, Hester Street, Walnut Hills, La Paloma, Tascosa Golf Course, Walnut Hills and portions of the Woodlands.

The Red Cross is asking for water. It is in severe need of bottled water. You can take donations to the Red Cross Office at 1800 South Harrison.

Evacuations are now ordered for the Tascosa Golf Course and Walnut Hills.

Additionally, FM 217 and FM 1721 in Randall County, and FM 285 in Armstrong County, are temporarily blocked due to wildfires in those areas. Motorists are being asked to stay clear, and not to drive through smoke that may be hovering over a roadway.

Evacuations are being ordered for Fairways Subdivisoin, Hester Street, Walnut Hills, La Paloma and portions of the Woodlands.
