See or smell smoke in the air?

You're not alone.

Pronews 7 has received numerous phone calls and emails reporting smoke in the air. Some may even be seeing an orange-looking smoke.

Thankfully, the smoke is not coming from anywhere near the Panhandle. Surprisingly, the smoke is wafting over the area all the way from Arizona, the National Weather Service in Amarillo confirmed!

The second largest wildfire in Arizona's history is currently burning. It has already burned more than 100,000 acres and has smoke as high as 30,000 feet.

The National Weather Service says the haze should clear out within the next day or so. With the Panhandle's intense winds, more smoke can be expected throughout the day and overnight.

As far as the orange smoke, Storm Search 7 Chief Meteorologist Steve Kersh says an orange glow will come out when the sun shines through the smoke.
