ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - Albuquerque voters may weigh-in on the future of red-light runner cameras, but one city council member says the council has the final say.

If it makes it to the ballot, voters can still let the council know how they feel about the program, but the question remains, does the council have to agree with them?

City Councilor Trudy Jones tells KOB-TV the voters would not actually have the final say in the future of the program. She says legally it's more of a survey, giving the City Council an idea of how voters feel.

City Councilor Dan Lewis believes the city would have to end or keep the program based on how voters feel.

The City Council is expected to vote Monday whether to give voters the green-light on red-light cameras.
