AMARILLO, TEXAS -- At two weeks old Cole Diamond faced the biggest challenge of his very young life, almost dying.
He was hospitalized with what appeared to be respiratory issues, instead doctors discovered a laundry list of issues.
Today Cole is five and the Diamond family still does not have a diagnosis for Cole's medical issues.
Cole's mom Brandy has left her job to care for her child, full time. Cole's low immune system does not allow him to attend school, or be around large groups of children, but he's an active, happy guy.
Brandy said, "His doctor tells us she doesn't want a diagnosis to have a label for cole but something has to help with the course of treatment to maybe know what else to expect what is next, like other surgeries that may happen."
In the meantime, Cole is expected to undergo more surgeries in the future. The Diamond family is having hard time paying the bills having already filed for bankruptcy once, but you can help this family make it through in the Panhandle Spirit.
This Sunday we can all stop by Skooterz (6th and Western) and attend the Cole Diamond Medical Fund Event. Doors open at noon with the first bike out at 1:30! Food and live music will kick off the event, door prizes, live auction and raffles will top it off.
