Not only was our nation's independence celebrated on Monday, but so were our war veterans.
America Supports You Texas had a cookout at Westgate Chevrolet to bring in donations for the Texas Panhandle Honor Flights.
The Honor Flights take World War II and Korea veterans from the Texas Panhandle all-expenses-paid to Washington D.C. to visit war monuments and other displays honoring the men and women who have fought in America's wars. The organization has sent hundreds of veterans to D.C., and does it all simply to thank veterans for what they put on the line for our country.
"It's a trip to say thank you once again to those men and women who brought home freedom during World War II and Korea," said President of America Supports You Texas Jack Barnes. "They've earned it."
Veterans enjoyed hamburgers, brownies, patriotic music and some shade as others came to eat, donate and thank them.
