PADUCAH, TEXAS -- Firefighters in Cottle County are battling two large grassfires and a third smaller one in that area. We're told two fires broke last night during a lightning storm and crews have been working to get those under control since then. The first fire is being called , "The Carroll Fire" which is located near Glen Carroll Ranch near Paducah. Officials say that fire is has burned an estimated one thousand acres so far. At one point, it did threaten a home but firefighters were able to save it. The second fire is located near the Wildlife Management Area. Officials say it's burned about 200 acres. No structures are threatened with this fire. A third fire was called in just after 6:00 pm Sunday on Triangle Ranch. Air support estimate that fire as burned about 10 acres. Right now, there's been no injuries reported with these fires. Crews again are working to get all three under control. Officials say both fires from last night were caused by dry lightning strikes. No structures are threatened at this time, and no evacuations are in order. Pronews 7 will keep you posted as we learn more.
