The start of school is just around the corner and parents from across the Panhandle are already on the lookout for good buys and cheap deals.
If you're looking for a good time to shop, Aug. 19, 20 and 21 may be your best best. That's when shoppers across Texas will get a break from local and state sales taxes.
It's the state's annual tax holiday and residents will be able to take full advantage of plenty of back-to-school items. Most clothing and footwear priced under $100 is exempt from sales tax. That means you could save about $8 on every $100 spent!
Additionally, backpacks are exempt.
