Amarillo Police are searching for information on a suspect who allegedly robbed a woman at gunpoint at a stop sign in Downtown Amarillo Wednesday evening.

According to Police, a 17-year-old victim said she was at the stop sign at SW 10th and Madison when a suspect walked up to the driver's side of her red 2004 Mustang, pointed a gun at her and demanded money.

The suspect told the victim to not look at him and she handed him money. The money was from a transaction she had just finished at a credit union, police said. He then fled after taking the money.

The suspect is described as a Hispanic male, about five-foot-eight inches tall, with a stocky build and short hair. Additionally, he was wearing an oversized black t-shirt, blue jeans and a black cap.

Amarillo Police ask anyone with any information on this crime to call them or Crime Stoppers. Crime Stoppers can be reached at 374-4400.
