AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Big Texan, one of Amarillo's most famous and world-renowned restaurants was robbed Friday morning and police are looking for information related to the crime.
According to police, a female employee was putting money inside an ATM machine near the front door of The Big Texan when a black male walked through the door. The suspect allegedly had a handgun and told the woman to give him the money. Police say she handed him what is being described as a silver metal box that contained cash.
The suspect them fled. He was last seen running westbound along the I-40 access road.
He is described as a black male in his 30s, six-foot-six and wearing a gray hoodie-type jacket with a hood over his head. He also had black pants and black shoes.
No one was injured in this robbery and the losses have not yet been determined.
Police ask anyone with information to call them or Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
