The start of school is literally just around the corner and parents from across the Panhandle are preparing to shop for school supplies and clothing during Texas' annual Tax-Free Weekend.
This weekend, Aug. 19, 20 and 21 is the annual shopping holiday. That's when shoppers across Texas will get a break from local and state sales taxes.
As part of the state's annual tax holiday and residents will be able to take full advantage of plenty of back-to-school items.
Most clothing and footwear priced under $100 is exempt from sales tax. That means you could save about $8 on every $100 spent!
Additionally, backpacks are exempt.
The following is a list of tax-exempt items, according to the Texas Comptroller's office.
