Summer time is coming to a close, and it seems our schedules are far from open. Yes, Fall seems to usher in a rush of new to-do's so why not put our best foot forward and start this new season feeling better and maybe shed a few pounds while we are at it!
Rhonda Roten, a certified wellness coach at Gold's Gym, has 10 clean eating principles that will keep you feeling better and looking leaner.
1. Eat 6 small meals a day, 2 1/2 to 3 hours apart.
2. Eat breakfast everyday within an hour of rising.
3. Make your last meal 3 hrs before bed.
4. Combine lean protein & complex carbs at each meal.
5. Eat sufficient healthy fats everyday.
6. Drink 1/2 your body weight in oz of H2O.
7. Carry a cooler packed with clean foods.
8. Get fiber, vitamins, nutrients, and enzymes from fruit and veggies.
9. Adhere to proper portion sizes.
10. Stay away from processed & chemically charged foods.
