AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 20-year-old man is dead after he was hit by a truck on Amarillo Boulevard early Sunday morning.
It was at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday when a fight had allegedly broken out at a Taco Stand in the 1100 block of Amarillo Boulevard involving several people. That's when police say Anthony Montes, 20, ran out into the street into the path of a truck.
Montes was transferred to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.
According to police, alcohol was not a factor for the driver and it is not yet known if it was a factor for Montes.
The case remains under investigation.
