4 juveniles arrested for mailbox explosion

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Four juveniles are now in police custody on charges stemming from the explosiveb left in an Amarillo mailbox Sunday.

Amarillo Police were able to identify these suspects because of tips called into Student Crime Stoppers of Amarillo and Amarillo Crime Stoppers. These tips led to additional evidence and information. 

Three white male juveniles and one white female juvenile were identified. The four juveniles are now being detained at the Youth Center of the High Plains on the third degree felony charges of Prohibited Weapon.

It was Sunday, Aug. 28 when a device went off in a mailbox in the 4400 block of Evelyn. Police told Pronews 7 the device was possibly a homemade bomb.

The bomb team responded and no one was injured.
