Teenager pleads guilty to May hotel robberies

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A 19-year-old man pleaded guilty to three hotel robberies committed back in May.

According to Randall Sims, the 47th District Attorney, Lawrence Deleon, 19, pleaded guilty to the May 14, 2011, robberies of Super 8, Residence Inn and the Hampton Inn, all located on Interstate 40. All of these robberies happened within an hour of each other.

Deleon pleaded guilty to all three of these robberies and received a sentence of 15 years on each robbery on Thursday.

Friday, Deleon also pleaded guilty on a new drug charge that occurred around the same time as the robberies, Sims said. It was listed as a probation recovation.

The sentences will all run concurrent, according to Sims.
