AMARILLO, TEXAS -- For a lot of families, the Labor Day weekend means celebrating their last little bit of summer freedom before school really gets back into session.
Lake Meredith has been a get-away spot for some folks, as they celebrate part of their Labor Day holiday. Sunday's cooler temperatures and record-declining water levels at Lake Meredith didn't stop Amarillo local and Amarillo College student, Raemie Ware, and her family from hitting the water, riding in the boat, doing a little tubing and just hanging out and enjoying the time spent together.
"It's the end of summer. I haven't really done much this whole summer. This is the first time I"ve been to the lake this whole summer and school starts and I just needed to get away. We do it every year. It's just kind of just like a family thing. Come out and have fun and go tubing and spend time with family", Ware.
