AMARILLO, TEXAS -- If you enjoyed a delicious meal on your Labor Day, you were in good company -- so did a bunch of members of the AFD.

A few groups of local firefighters enjoyed a free meal from Olive Garden as they worked through the holiday to keep all of us safe. As part of Olive Garden's annual 'Hospitaliano' delivery event on Labor Day, the local franchise served meals to between 20 to 30 hungry firefighters Monday, which included lasagna, salad, bread sticks and even tiramisu.

"We like to show our appreciation for all that they do in our community. We do it every year. They work really hard and I don't think that they get appreciated very much and they still have to work when most of us are at home resting", said Olive Garden employee, Katie Mcomber.

It was the 10th consecutive year for Olive Garden to deliver their special Labor Day lunches. More than 740 Olive Garden restaurants nationwide served special meals to the heroes in their communities Monday, including firefighters, police officers and hospital staff.
