Say what?! Amarillo man arrested for growing pot in backyard

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An Amarillo man was arrested late Saturday afternoon after police say he was growing marijuana plants in his backyard.

Amarillo Police were sent to the 1100 block of Yucca around 11:45 a.m. Saturday on a call of someone growing marijuana in a backyard. Upon arrival, police came into contact with a man in a backyard that did not have a fence around it.

While the garden looked to be a typical vegetable garden, police discovered several marijuana plants growing in the garden.

Six marijuana plants were seized and 50-year-old Steven Rockwall Lowery. He was booked on a charge of Possession of Marijuana .
